Master Percussionist • Award-Winning DJ • Cultural Ambassador of Latin Music
Joe Falero is a dynamic force in the world of Latin music — a renowned percussionist, charismatic bandleader, seasoned DJ, and passionate advocate for cultural expression. Known for his electrifying showmanship, flawless technique, and unforgettable solos, Joe commands every stage with authenticity, talent, and a deep love for his roots.
Born in La Parada 23 abajo, Santurce, Puerto Rico, Joe’s journey began with rhythm in his blood. At just nine years old, he asked for a conga drum for Christmas — a moment that would shape the course of his life. By the age of twelve, he was playing Rumba, Bomba, and Plena with neighborhood friends, and at fifteen, he was already performing with local bands. His deep knowledge of Latin music quickly made him a favorite DJ at family events, long before his career would take him to global stages.
For over four decades, Joe Falero has built an extraordinary career as a professional musician and DJ, performing at major local and international events. His award-winning talent and unique ability to fuse tradition with innovation have earned him the honor of sharing the stage with some of the most iconic figures in Latin music, including El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Celia Cruz, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Grupo Niche, Joe Arroyo, Tito Puente Jr., and many more.
As a bandleader, Joe is committed to excellence — constantly pushing creative boundaries and bringing out the very best in the musicians who share the stage with him. Every performance is original, energetic, and infused with his unmistakable style.
In addition to his live shows, Joe is also the DJ, Host, and Producer of the popular radio program “Soy Boricua”, broadcast live every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on WSER dB – Salsa Empire Radio. The show is a celebration of Puerto Rican heritage and Latin music, curated with Joe’s signature blend of insight, rhythm, and soul.
🎉 This year, Joe Falero proudly celebrates his 25-year artistic journey — a milestone filled with rhythm, dedication, and love for music. And there’s no better place to share this celebration than at LAREXPO 2025, where he will honor this important chapter with his audience, friends, and fans who have supported him along the way.
